2. Getting to know you
You'll need to tell us a few things so we can quote you an accurate price and time of completion.
- What size do you want for your caricature?
- Do you want your caricature in black and white or color?
- How many people will be depicted in the caricature?
- How much detail do you need ... simple or detailed?
- What kind of hobby, job, talents, personality, background, logos, text, props (car, house, furniture, accesories, etc.) do you want expressed in your caricature?
- Tell us if you want a caricature on a special medium. We usually draw caricatures on canvas or illustration board, but we can also draw on other things as well ... such as mugs, T-shirts, etc.
- Do you want your caricature printed? We can have your caricature printed on postcards, T-shirts, party favors, mugs, and all sorts of novelty items. We've even had caricatures in ice sculptures!
- Where and how should we ship your artwork?
3. Agreement and Payment
Once we've gotten all your information and agreed on a price, we will send you an agreement to sign.
Just send back the agreement along with some photos and half of the payment as a deposit. Your deposit is not processed until the first sketch approval is made.
4. Approval Process
We will send you sketches for your approval. When the final sketch approval is made, we start on the final inked version.
Another approval for the inked artwork is required. With the final inked approval, we require final payment and your artwork will be completed.
We will provide more in-progress step-by-step approvals of your artwork as needed. However, at this point, additional changes may require extra charges.
5. Finishing Touches, Framing, and Shipping
When your caricature is complete, we will professionally frame and ship your artwork.
We also send you a high-resolution digital scan of your caricature for your use. You own the rights to your gift caricature.
(Note: If the artwork is commisioned as part of a marketing or licensing application. Then the rights to the artwork may need to be purchased or fall under a licensing agreement.)
